Center for Occupational Risk Assessment
The Center for Assessment of Professional Risks is a structural subdivision of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management “Republican Research Institute for Labor Protection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

The purpose of the department is to provide expert and analytical services for the modernization of the occupational safety management system based on the assessment of professional risks and the certification of production facilities.

Areas of activity of the center

  • conducting certification of production facilities for working conditions;
  • conducting assessment of professional risks

The results of certification of production facilities are used for:

  • implementation of a set of organizational and technical measures to improve working conditions and safety in order to bring production facilities into compliance with the requirements of regulatory legal acts in the field of occupational safety and health;оценки фактического состояния условий производственной среды и безопасности труда на рабочих местах;
  • determining the provision of workers with the necessary means of individual and collective protection, their compliance with actual working conditions and the requirements of standards imposed on them;
  • confirmation of the fact of work in harmful or hazardous working conditions, to determine the connection between the disease and the profession and the work performed in case of suspicion of an occupational disease and to establish a diagnosis of an occupational disease, including when resolving disputes and other disagreements in court;
  • making a decision to terminate (suspend) the operation of a production facility or equipment, as well as changing the technology;
  • compilation of statistical reports on the state of working conditions;
  • determining the insurance rate of the insurer (employer) when insuring an employee against accidents in the performance of his work (official) duties;
  • justification of remuneration and provision of benefits and compensation to employees engaged in work with harmful and hazardous working conditions, as provided for by the labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • receiving reliable information by employees about the state of working conditions, safety and labor protection, about harmful production factors and measures to protect against their impact.

Stages of conducting professional risk assessment:

  • identification of harmful and dangerous factors (mechanical, physical, chemical, biological, psychophysiological);
  • assessment of professional risks (harmful working conditions, workplace injury hazard, equipment safety, provision of personal protective equipment and disease risk);
  • registration of results (filling out forms, protocols and preparing a report)
